Shaw Go WiFi allows users to access the Internet outside their home, in various public areas such as malls, parks, coffee shops, restaurants, and gyms.

With over 100,000 existing Shaw Go WiFi hotspots across Western Canada and new ones being added each month, the Shaw Go WiFi Finder App makes it convenient to find a location where you can connect to WiFi. This eliminates the need for expensive mobile data charges. Whether you want to stream videos, play online games, or use data-intensive applications, you can enjoy seamless connectivity on all your wireless devices both at home and around town. By registering your device and connecting to any Shaw Go WiFi hotspot for free*, you will automatically be connected whenever you're in one of these hotspots.

The Functions section of the app provides a comprehensive explanation of its capabilities as required by the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation. It covers functions such as determining and displaying your location using GPS and network-based services, temporarily storing or modifying locally stored data for caching purposes, receiving data from the Internet for search results and configuration updates, reading local service configuration data for troubleshooting, and displaying an Augmented Reality view via your device's camera to locate nearby hotspots.

Additionally, when "Send Anonymous Usage Data" is allowed, the Shaw Go WiFi Finder App collects anonymous usage data to identify additional locations for Go WiFi hotspots and perform low-impact network performance quality tests. The app also launches immediately after device startup to collect data and sends the collected anonymous usage data and test results only via a WiFi connection.

As for features, the app allows users to search for Shaw Go WiFi hotspots and filter the results by category, such as cafes, entertainment venues, and transportation hubs. Users can also get direction and distance details from their current location to these hotspots. The app provides options to view the hotspots on a map or in a list view, easily share hotspot locations with friends via email, Facebook, and Twitter, saved favorite Go WiFi hotspots for convenient access, and access information about Shaw Go WiFi hotspots including their addresses, phone numbers, and websites. Additionally, the app enables users to register their device for Shaw Go WiFi auto-connect directly from within the app.
